Challenges:

Along with cutting edge technology and new design ideas, comes innovation on the job.

A very short construction period of under 11 months to have this significant winery operational meant working the alternative construction sequencing to achieve the result.

Success:

The winery was operational within 9 months in time for vintage, and then finishing off the last 2 months after vintage. It was fully operational in under 11 months from start to finish, including tanks, plant and the like.

Proportion of Resources:

Robinson Construction delivered the Overall Project Management and traditional Concrete, Carpentry and Finishing trades. Using subcontractors for Structural Steel, Roofing, Electrical, Hydraulic, Mechanical, Fire Services, Joinery and Painting.

Key Personnel:

Nick Robinson (Project Manager)

Jim Western (Site Manager)

Phil Robinson (QS)

How Key Personnel Supported Success:

Good communication with both client and consultant representatives at regular PCG meetings meant any decisions needed were agreed very quickly, so there were no delays.
